Data distribution

Information for surveyors, project designers, builders and others interested in the geographical data of Prague, terms and conditions for obtaining this data and contacts for the data distribution office.

On 1 April 2015, new Guidelines for the Provision of Data and Outputs from the Prague Geographic Information System (only CZ) came into force, approved by Prague City Council Resolution No. 2587 of 30 September 2014.

These guidelines simplify and extend the free provision of data and manner of provision in the form of mapping services and standardised data sets (Open Data).

 

General provisions:

Data and outputs from the Prague Geographic Information System, which is managed by IPR Prague, are provided in three schemes:

  • Basic – free provision in the form of mapping services and Open Data
  • Standard
    1. provision via remote access electronic services (E-výdej) with added value, including conversion to target data formats, selection of the data area, or other data modification services required by clients. Data and outputs are provided free of charge.
    2. provision with assistance in selecting data and outputs, selecting a data area and a maximum of 0.5 hours of services related to preparing and providing data and outputs. Data and outputs are provided subject to the payment of handling fees.
  • Above standard – any assisted distribution services associated with preparing and providing data and outputs whose preparation exceeds 0.5 hours. Data and outputs are provided subject to the payment of handling fees.

Handling fees for assistance with data distribution are set out in the Pricelist of Data and Outputs from the Prague GIS .

Further use of all issued data and outputs is explained in the Licensing Conditions for the Provision of Data and Outputs from the Prague GIS (Annex No. 4 of the Guidelines).

Provision of data and outputs to Prague City Hall departments, city districts, funded organisations established by the City of Prague and funded organisations established by city districts

In accordance with Article III of the Guidelines, IPR Prague provides Prague City Hall departments, city districts, funded organisations established by the City of Prague and funded organisations established by city districts withdata and outputs free of charge in a standard manner on the basis of written request as set out in Annex No.1 of the Guidelines signed by the applicant or an authorised person. If the applicant authorises a third party to take receipt of the data and outputs, he/she must substantiate his/her authority with the appropriate authorisation.

Provision of data and outputs to state authorities

In accordance with Article IV of the Guidelines, IPR Prague provides state authorities with data and outputs free of charge in a standard manner on the basis of written Request for the provision of data and outputs to state authorities (Annex No. 2 of the Guidelines) signed by the applicant or an authorised person. If the applicant authorises a third party to take receipt of the data and outputs, he/she must substantiate his/her authority with the appropriate authorisation.

Provision of data and outputs to contractual partners

IPR Praha provides clients (including foreign clients) who have concluded a cooperation agreement with the supplier for the mutual provision of data and data outputs with data and outputs under an individual scheme according to this agreement. Data and outputs outside the framework of this agreement is provided subject to the payment of handling fees and the prices set out in the Price List.


Provision of data and outputs to public research and educational institutions and students

IPR Prague provides students of educational institutions (including foreign students) with data and outputs free of charge on the basis of written Request for the free provision of data and outputs to students of educational institutions (Annex No. 3.1 of the Guidelines). IPR Praha provides data and outputs to public research and educational institutions for the purposes of science and research free of charge on the basis of a written Request for the provision of data and outputs to public research and educational institutions (Annex No. 3.2). IPR Prague provides students and public research and educational institutions with data and outputs free of charge in accordance with Article VI of the Guidelines, and according to the standard level under Art. I (4) b) thereof.

Licensing conditions

Along with data and outputs, clients receive a Handover Protocol in which they agree to the Licensing Conditions for the Provision of Data and Outputs from the Prague GIS. If these Licensing Conditions are breached, the client may be prosecuted according to the law.
