The Digital Model of of City of Prague is based on photogrammetric analysis of aerial images, spans the entire city, and visualizes relief, buildings, bridges and greenery. The attributes of buildings are classified based on types of surface (vertical walls, flat or slanted roofs, chimneys, dormers, spires, etc.) and can be graphically differentiated. Buildings with texture replicated from photographs are currently in a testing stage. The Digital Model of City is mainly used to incorporate designs of new real estate developments and assess their impact on the skyline and views from and of the heritage site in Prague. This 3D model is also used to verify space regulation, particularly height of buildings, as part of drafting the new land use plan. A part of the model is used in the “Central Prague from a bird's-eye view” application.
